 Selling Danger Try-Outs
« Thread Started on Jun 26, 2007, 3:03pm »

(This is an RPG that I attempted on another board and, though complimented lavishly, failed due to the fact no one submitted a bloody character! And all of the new ideas I've got area too experimental to start off a board on, so I decided on this old one.)

You're walking down the city road. This is nothing unusual. You go this route all the time going back to your place. It's just another day. Another average, peaceful, humdrum day in your average, peaceful, humdrum life. The biggest worry on your mind has to do with deadlines and due dates for papers you have to spend hours filling out. Face it: the biggest problem in your life is trying to not be consumed by the tedium.
But as you are walking past an ally, in an area of the neighborhood that is usually quiet and without population, you see a little man sitting quietly at a fold-out table. His hands are neatly folded together, and he's sitting up straight. He's rather mousy looking, as far as a little man goes, and he's wearing a grey, pinstripe suit and a black derby hat with a little, yellow feather sticking out the side. Displayed on the front of the table was a white banner that reads:

SELLING DANGER!
DANGER FOR SALE!
LIMITED TIME ONLY!
LIVE THE LIFE OF A SUPERHERO, COMPLETE WITH YOUR OWN SUPER POWER!
THE BIGGER THE POWER, THE BIGGER THE DANGER!

Such a strange thing to run into, isn't it? Normally, you'd think this were some nutcase trying to make a buck, but you're intrigued, and you feel drawn to bring yourself to walk up to the little man.

When you approach the table, he looks up at you and smiles. "Ah, lovely weather we're having," he says with a bit of a Brooklyn color to his words, "What can I do for you? Our services cost $49.95."

Tryout Sheet---
Name: (liek, ur handle, d00d)
Gender: ("Yes, please" doesn't work with this one)
Age: (As long as your character is old enough to talk, I could care less how old they are)
Appearance: (You've got a body)
Clothing: (If you're naked, say so here)
Superpower: (Anything for $49.95)
Personality: (I just like for you guys to have this down for others' reference)
Bio: (Since your life's probably boring anyway, I'm going to be lenient on this)
Cutscene: ( Talk with the little man. During this talk, he's supposed to give you a "trail run" of your chosen power, in which you'll be instantly placed into a situation in which you have to use it, then brought back afterwards to finish the deal. This should be your cutscene.)

(Screw the red. The bloody codes don't feel like working properly.)

You know, I felt a lot more cleaver at the time I originally made this RPG due to the fact that "Who Wants to be a Superhero?" had not yet occurred then.
