I've got two things to say, and they're connected.
I'm starting college again this week. In fact, I'm going down to drop off my stuff and clear up campus matters tomorrow, and then I should (theoretically; recent court matters may interfere) be starting classes on Tuesday. I will probably not be able to post or moderate much until everything is settled in, (which might be as late as next Monday, since I'm invited to both a housewarming party and a D&D session the coming weekend). Considering that this place isn't quite as active as, oh, the forums to a popular webcomic, this shouldn't be much of a problem, but being that I'm going back to college does mean that there will be times in the fairly near future when I just cannot do basic admin stuff due to bloody papers being due.
That being said, I've appointed funwithfire as the first Global Moderator. I've already been talking about giving him a position because, frankly, the active members on this side came from him going around and bugging people via e-mail, and he checks the site probably more often then I on average, so he seemed like a logical choice. Congratulations are in order, I suppose, but he recently had a time-consuming change in his life as well: he's gotten a job. So it's not like he's going to be on 24/7 just because of his new duties/privileges. But, hey, we've got more manpower of the "I can do stuff other people can't" sort.

Actually it doesn't look like it's giving me much power, unless there's some special thing I need to do for access to the almighty mod powers.

Well, as an admin on a few other proboards sites, I can say that most likely, Piccylo forgot to turn on the powers for GMs and mods. Of course I might be wrong, but thats probably what happened.

Forgetting to turn on powers? Do you really think I'm so inept as I'd do that?
*switches the powers on and walks away, whistling like nothing happened*
