You've seen the same bleak, white walls for who knows how long. You've just been sitting here, waiting for something... something. Whether you know what it is that you're waiting for or not, you know that the chances of seeing has to be about the equivalent of witnessing a single particle of mass materialize before you that was originally from a specific point in the universe lightyears away... or about as likely as seeing a wet sheepdog herd cats. Anyway, you're always going to see the same things that you see every day... the birds going by the window... the nurses going by the door... the leprechauns going past the time strain. Things only get interesting when somebody makes it interesting, and the staff panics and runs around. Some of the staff in the asylum are nice; some of it, you'd swear came from the devil; some could care less.
The year is 1962, and Flat Oak Insane Asylum is the largest in this part of the state, but it's also the only one for several surrounding counties. Its not one of the better asylums in the country because it's staff is... not all that great. The nurses range from sweet caretakers to just plain abusive. The doctors themselves all have their good points, but have just as many bad points to counter, and none of them will work together.
The area around this place is vast and plain-y (you're pretty sure that's a word), and there are woods around it. There's a city past that at some point (you don't really remember at what point), and the area has a rather low population density, and from what you heard, you know that you're in Iowa. Why is this important, again? Oh yeah... the plan!
Your leader and the rest of your group has been forming a plan to escape (which is a very old plan... somewhere between 6 days and 10 years old). This is precisely the thing that you've been waiting for: a chance to escape. You guys have been trying to gather information so that you can finally escape from this really boring and uneventful place...
Now, if you can only remember the details and keep on track long enough to make it happen!
Doctors:
Dr. Sebastian Bromfield
Looks to be in his early 60s, Dr. Bromfield is practically a walking textbook on Abnormal Psychology. He can easily identify symptoms, disorders, and what substances and techniques are needed to treat them. However, he's a bitter and impatient man who is more likely to abuse his patients than perform therapy.
Because of this, he is more likely to send nurses to do the treatments than appear himself.
Dr. Nathan O'Malley
A devout Catholic man that uses the Word in everything he does. In his past, he trained to become a priest, but instead found a woman and resolved that he was meant to do something else. Some would call most of his work as "Spiritual Healing" but his co-workers just say that he's as much of a crackpot as his patients. He always visits all of his patients as much as possible, but is kinder to the calmer ones and can get very defensive around the violent ones.
Dr. Rhonda Jasper
The only female doctor in the medical hospital, she is the most commonly harassed. She tries to be sympathetic and do her work, but she's still in school at the same time, so her visits to her patients can be frequent on some weeks, and almost non-existent on others. Since she's still in training, she still needs to refer a lot back to research, and is not afraid to try new techniques for treatment; she'll sometimes shun older methods in favor of them.

[OOC: If you want a list of disorders with symptoms to choose from, just PM me.
I highly suggest researching your disorder(s) and being specific about them. For example, there's more than one kind of Schizophrenia, and it has nothing to do with Dissassociative Identity Disorder (multiple personalities). I suggest against psychopathic killers unless you do it really well.
Also, if you wish to be the leader of the group, PM me and we'll discuss it. Otherwise, I will appoint one.]
