I decided that I might as well start up the FAQ section. Questions (and matching answers) will be posted as they're asked.
Q1: What in blazes is a "Hat of Stay-Put"?[/b]
A: Once upon a time, not too long ago, the admin of this humble site started an Oriental Adventures Dungeons & Dragons campaign based in Edo Japan centering around demon pirates. Pretty awesome, huh? Well, one of the players (the player being none other than our own funwithfire) had a Crow Tengu character, and he drew his character with a hat on. I, of course, pointed out the fact that the hat, no matter how well anchored, would likely fly off as he flew around. So, amongst the players, the fictional magical item "Hat of Stay-Put" (named in honor of D&D's weird-ass way of naming magical items) was created. So, yeah, the site's name is a bit of an inside joke, but it was either "Hat of Stay-Put" or one of the most humorous and very adult names for the spells or artifacts from either the "Nymphology" or "The Book of Erotic Fantasy". And that might attract too much of that sort of crowd.
Plus, I like hats. Hats are cool.
Q2: So... what's this site about/based on?[/b]
A: The welcome box didn't explain it well enough? Fine. This site is not a singular RPG world, nor is it restricted to one fandom (such as Harry Potter or Naruto), so all sorts of RPGs are allowed. Active RPGs and tryouts are always posted on the left chamber of the welcome box. So it's not really based on or about anything other than just roleplaying. Now, the RPGs themselves may be about something particular; if a Warcraft or Anne Rice RPG started, it would certainly be allowed.
Q3: What if I want to roleplay, but either all the try-outs are closed, deal with topics I'm not interested/knowledgeable in, or never accept me?[/b]
A: Check the lounges for the Active RPGs as well. Some of them accept new characters even after try-outs have been closed, and some don't even have a required try-out (such as "The Inn of Last Portals", which anyone with an already-stored character can post in. Plus: Any active RPG that still accepts characters will alway have an asterisk ( * ) beside its name in the welcome box.
